W/C 28 Nov. The last of the deadlines for large pieces of writing and back to focusing on practical work.

Ill this week so took some time to research - reading and film.  Got a new book; "Painting now"

30 Nov.

Finished and submitted the exhibition proposal for WACCA and caught up on Monday's lecture and learning resources via the recording and teams. Feel a bit like I've not done any practical in ages because I've been focusing on research and proposals but telling myself that this is still legitimate work and it feeds into what I make..but I'm going to enjoy getting back to painting.

Pre-assessment question sheet is in paper format in "studio sketchbook"

1 Dec

Went to Anna Francis' artist talk and started making canvases.

Have a little more information about the Canal project so thinking about what I could propose for this.

Canal art video from canal and river trust - Roses and Castles Art style / crochet granny squares / stick frames / collages / - second vid focus on street art to cover tagging - not sure we'll be able to do this.

There's a lot of ideas on the canal and river trust sites! This is re sculpture projects

Sacrificial print - shop brought and been on various walls around my home for years - its getting a bit battered and I need a square frame.  I know I can make one - I have 2 lengths of wood at home waiting to be made into bespoke frames but I really like reclaiming frames from places.
I'm pleased with this one - the edge is shaped, its a good strong pdf pressed board, has deep sides and corner supports.

Love this canvas stretcher tool.

I'm getting slowly faster at making corners. I like them really neatly folded and have seen some pretty rough ones so they're not bad, think they'll only get better through practice.
considering how to get the sides of the canvas neater too.

One square canvas ready to be primed.
