25th October. Collagraph prepping

Collagraph prep didn't go well. I need to give myself more than a day to do this to allow drying time. I wanted to add another layer so will have to prep dry point plates for tomorrows session.

• I used the line "There was once" a per-curser to "Once upon a time" to incorporate into a collagraph with both "Mother Grundy" and fairy tales in mind.

 

• I'm using this term in keeping with Mother Nature and referencing tracing a nature religion 
• I forgot that the stitched text would print backwards in the collagraph and stopped just short of finishing.
• Instead I focused on an abstract arrangement using pva glue, safety pins, threads, canvas, fern leaves and wood glue.
• I also forgot to take an image at this stage of the collagraph plate as it was wet.
